My life is a crystal teardrop

‘My life is a crystal teardrop’ celebrates the visceral human experience of memories through a visually tactile installation of frottages (rubbings). Participants from diverse backgrounds and walks of life from across Sydney and abroad were asked to submit a rubbing of an object reminiscent of a significant memory. Under the artist’s direction, participants were encouraged to experiment and use various mediums and materials that were accessible to them or reflective of their daily lives or passions. The project challenges participants and viewers to reflect on their past and question the credibility of their own memories and asks - if objects are merely tangible imprints of the past, then what of memories?
