Glimmer interrogates the passage of light which creeps along the Blue Mountains, dissolving the threshold of day into night. This ceaseless, humbling sublimity has greatly impacted the group of artists; Amber Hearn, Hayley Zena, Nastia Gladushchenko, Shannon Smith and Ruby Rain.
Taking a woman’s perspective, the question arises: “What do we do at this time and how does it impact our perception of self?” From putting kids into bed to observing wildlife, going for a bushwalk to making dinner, we watch the light move through our lives echoing the march of time.
Here the artists explore change, identity and the everyday. Intending to create connections between women in the city and the mountains, these artists create work which transcends place, time, and language.
