JENI MULVEY
Sense
Sense is a site based installation that invites attention from many angles. Its observational and hands-on experience slides between wonder, play and enquiry; tapping on our senses, memories and associations. The artist’s enquiry delves into the concept of uncertainty whilst celebrating the application of imagination and invention. Whether we are confronted by the survival of the planet, the horrors of war or personal illness, our human condition is challenged to understand realities and navigate through uncertainties.

Jeni Mulvey is an emerging artist, working on Gadigal country in Inner West Sydney. Mulvey’s art practice gives credence to the process of making and resolving as well as the dialogue and experience surrounding the ‘display’ of the artwork.
Mulvey often uses transparent or semi-opaque textiles and paper, layered or draped to invite investigation of hidden places and the action of looking beyond the surface of the material moment. Found objects or everyday materials are employed to bring contrasting qualities to fine art materials.
Mulvey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Art School. They have exhibited or collaborated in a number of group shows at various Sydney art spaces or galleries. Further details available at jenimulvey-artist.com.au
Mulvey acknowledges the land they live and work on were never ceded and pays respect to the traditional custodians, Elders past, present and emerging.
