SHELLEY WATTERS
breathing
Shelley Watters’ breathing is situated at the intersection of self-portraiture, meditation practice and the history of lumen printing to record plant specimens. Throughout 2025, Watters created 356 8x10” lumen prints of her daily meditation to care for their mental health and listen deeply to Gadigal and Wangal Country, thereby exploring the late eco-philosopher Joanna Macy’s idea of “greening of the self” through prolonged, careful, attention to place.
