Mixed Metaphors

Mixed Metaphors is a parody of information and internet communication, where language is composted and devoid of its power.  I respond to the culture of social media forums and how ideas are discussed within these spaces by appropriating, editing and re-producing statements in mediums that interfere in meaning, legibility and the possible ways the viewer can respond. By removing these statements from the context of social media, where one can instantly react by commenting, I aim to slow down the viewer’s response to the text and create a space where a dialogue about these beliefs can occur.
